Viewing search term statistics

When viewing statistics, the Search terms report shows a list of search terms, as shown in figure 1. When a visitor finds your site through a search engine, the search term is the word or phrase they entered into the search engine to find your site. If you find that many visitors are searching for a term that you do not specifically target, optimising for that term could lead to you receiving more visitors.

The list initially shows search terms for the current month. You can use the drop-down field to see the search terms for any month since your site went live.

At the bottom of the list is a Download this report button. Click this button to download the report as a CSV file, which you can open in a spreadsheet application.
